At this point in my career I’ve been lucky enough to capture weddings all over the world, and people often ask what’s been my favourite country to shoot in. The answer is very easy – Italy. I actually shot my first destination wedding here back in 2017 – also my first time in the country – and I fell in love instantly. And so did this wedding’s bride Brittani when she spent time studying here, dreaming then of returning one day to marry to love of her life. And that brings me to today and sharing this most unbelievably perfect adventure with you, one that I couldn’t be more grateful to have gone on. From the first time I spoke with Britt&Cam on a Zoom call across the pond in Oregon, USA I knew this wedding was going to be magical, and I was as excited as I was nervous about doing it all justice with my film. Their guests were welcomed the evening before at a local pizzeria in Ravello for great wine and even better pizza alongside some speeches lead by Cameron to kick us off for the weekend. “If you think this is good, wait until you see tomorrow”. He wasn’t wrong. Myself and the photographer arrived at a stunning villa the next morning to capture a relaxed prep with the bridal party and groomsmen nestled in different areas getting ready before the couple shared a first look in the stunning gardens. After some family pictures and a pre-wedding shot or two, we headed for the most beautiful ceremony space, Giardini Della Principessa, soaked in Amalfi sun and with Ukuleles piping Andrea Bocelli in to welcome guests. This was a real pinch me moment.

After an epic confetti exit, the whole wedding party headed on foot into central Ravello accompanied and spirited along by the musicians from the ceremony, and I did some of my best Dad shuttle runs to capture every angle of their journey. I made it to the top of the steps just as the party entered Ravello square and walked forward into the most amazing sunshine. As I watched them all come into shot I once again felt so grateful to be here capturing this incredible event. After some group photos and lots of hugs, the guests made their way to the reception and we stayed behind for some portraits around Ravello. With somewhere as beautful as this you don’t need to look for spots to take photos, so we let Britt&Cam wander and spend the time together soaking it all in whilst we captured the magic, finishing off with the best ice-cream in Ravello according to wedding planner Victoria, and it turns out she knows her stuff. We then shared a car together along Amalfi’s winding roads and enjoyed the stunning views of the coast as the reception venue slowly revealed itself in the distance. Now when Brittani first enquired with me and I looked up Torre Normanna, my jaw dropped and I thought there’s no way I’m actually going to get to shoot in this place. Now we were about to arrive and I couldn’t wait to see it in person, and my god did it not disappoint. We spent 5 minutes on some more portraits down at the bottom of the stairs as the water crashed up against the rocks and the couple let the moment they had planned so meticulously for all of this time sink in. More traditional music was played as the wedding party enjoyed drinks and amazing food and the couple had their own private table to look out on it all. We then headed inside for the main food event and some more speeches before a cake cut for the ages against a backdrop of stunning fireworks. Finally, down below to what I can only describe as the rave cave as the wedding partied long and hard into the night. What an honour it was to share this day with Britt&Cam and to put it all together in my film, this wedding was adventure that I won’t soon forget.
