Manchester is a real powerhouse of weddings in the North of England and boasts some amazing spaces to both get married and celebrate it all afterwards. Holly & Colin chose stunning Manchester Cathedral for the service
and Rain Bar for the reception. As for the rest of the suppliers, I have rarely if ever seen an attention to detail quite like Holly’s, bringing together a curated list of talented people to bring her vision to life, and wow was it all worth it. We captured the prep at Stock Exchange before Holly’s arrival and spectacular aisle walk at Manchester Cathedral set to an unbelievable rendition of ‘Concerning Hobbits’ by the string quartet which, as a lifelong megafan of Lord of the Rings and Howard Shore, had me close to tears and struggling to keep my camera steady.

After capturing a confetti shot for the ages, the sun shone down on H&C as they enjoyed some drinks with their guests before we all headed across town on red busses to Rain Bar. Whilst everybody settled in there Holly & Colin nipped over the road for a drink at the regular Manchester haunt The Peveril of the Peak. Standing outside the pub nestled into a crowd regulars as they had a drink together and chatted much like they have done countless times in their relationship, this was a couple getting married their way and standing back capturing some candid moments was a documentary wedding filmmakers dream. I’m not much for setting things up or inauthenticity, I love the capture the real moments of a wedding and this was as real as they come. We headed
off down the road for some portraits before making our way back to Rain Bar for food & speeches – including Colin’s big announcement of their soon to be arriving(now arrived) little girl Lily. A beautiful day all round that was a pleasure to capture.
