In my ten years shooting weddings I have been fortunate enough to capture destination weddings all over the world, but on this occasion my couple were from the US and planning their destination wedding here in the UK, at the stunning Dunskey Estate in Scotland -which is still a 6 hour drive from where I live but not quite plane worthy. Whilst looking for venues, Lucy & Will had fallen in love with Dunskey and it’s pretty easy to why. They then planned their Scottish castle fairytale wedding adventure down to the finest detail(including
yours truly) and the day couldn’t have gone any better. I was also once again working with the incredible talent of Gingerbeard Weddings on photo duty which made my job even easier as we work in total sync with each other. We spent the morning capturing both parties getting ready in the castle before Lucy & Will shared a first look in the greenhouses ahead of the ceremony set in the woodland against some gorgeous sunlight.

After some family shots by the water we headed inside to escape the inevitable Scottish charm on it’s way down from the skies and enjoyed some traditional live music, hearty food and for me some great candid moments between loved ones. Dinner and speeches were next in the grand dining room, and then we were whisked off by the owner of Dunskey for some portraits against the incredible backdrop of the nearby hills and water. Lucy & Will finished out the night with an outfit change and a cake cut before some ceilidh dancing and an after party down in the rave cave. It doesn’t get much better than this one. What an honour it was to capture the day and to put together my vision for this Scottish destination wedding adventure.
